This book is a wonderful combination of theology, philosophy, and history of the Oglala Lakota. The heart wrenching details of boarding schools, the wonder and innocence of childhood, and the complexities of adult life are all thouroughly explored in the mythology and legendry of the Lakota. This work is an exemplary piece, that reflects the love of family, social anger, and the spirit of resistance to assimilation. The legends have a life of their own, but La Pointe has breated another generation of life with this book.
This book is very interesting and informative of the Lakota

I enjoyed this book very much. It contains many beliefs that the Lakota enjoy and believe in to this day. The book also includes many moral stories that the Lakota use to teach. The Legends of the Lakota has similarities to other indian tribes beliefs, but also very unique differences. It is a must for anyone doing research on indians or indian tribes or beliefs.
