The frat eventually goes to Harvard for law school, leaving his girl behind and getting cozy with an old flame from the East coast. The blonde cutie decides to take matters into her own hands and sets off to make it into and through Harvard Law proving to her boyfriend and herself that she's more than just another dumb blonde.

Catchy title, not quite “Paper Chase”.

An underachiever (stereotypical blond) played by Reese Witherspoon is dumped by her boyfriend, who prefers to marry someone sophisticated and intelligent to further his career. The challenge is to retrieve her lost love at any cost, even if it means having to go to law school. It goes downhill from there as the movie is formal and filled with clichés. There are some interesting side stories, but not enough to save the mediocre main plot. The outcome is not surprising but satisfying.
