Billy James had no talents, other than constantly making an idiot of himself and being a thorn in his sweet grandmother's side. But when he joined forces with three other misfits to start a cover band in his nana's garage, the part-time singer and full-time dimwit just knew that he'd one day take over the world by storm. Which he did, only under different circumstances than he'd imagined. Billy dreamed big and acted even bigger. After their band sent a tryout video for a concert festival contest that went horribly wrong, someone leaked it thinking it was a joke, but only escalated them to the top of stardom. But life on the road wasn't cut out for these boys. In order to keep a watchful eye on her accident-prone grandson, Nana insisted on going on tour with them, where she coincidentally became a crowd favorite for her onstage behavior for keeping her grandson in check. A new drummer was needed and Billy thought what better way than to recruit your rival band's drummer. After successfully doing so, the two opposing local bands quickly began clashing as they battled it out for the title in one of the largest rock festivals in the Midwest, where it would all lead up to the rock 'n' roll show of a lifetime.
