Led Zeppelin were the best. Created from the top musicians of the Sixties-Jimmy Page is believed to have played on over half of all British-released records between 1963 and 1965-they became one of... This description may be from another edition of this product.
In my opinion, Led Zeppelin is the greatest rock and roll band of all time. I stumbled upon this little book in a bookstore for a cheap price, so I decided to purchase it. This is not a book that documents the origins, members, etc. of the band in detail. This is a book that can be easily read in no more than ten to fifteen minutes as it is under 100 pages and the text is spread out, and most of it falls on every other page. The majority of this little book is made up of quotations from the bandmembers, magazine and newspaper writers, and peers of Led Zeppelin. There is not a lot of text that comes directly from the author, but that's okay. I enjoyed reading the thoughts and impressions of many people on the band during the time that Led Zeppelin was popular. The introduction by Tony Horkins is well done and is probably the best part of the book text wise. The introduction is twelve pages long and documents the beginning of the band, starting with Jimmy Page. Horkins just writes his thoughts on the band, which are positive, of course. As said above, the majority of the book is made up of quotes, with a limited amount of general comments by somebody, who I assume is Tony Horkins. If you need one reason to purchase this book then the photographs should be that reason. The pictures are in both black and white and color, and are full of exceptional quality. Most of the photos show the bandmembers performing at concerts, although there are a few still shots of the guys. This is a very quick read that will be enjoyed and will be looked at over and over again in the future. This book is a nice keepsake to show friends and family, and would make a great gift for a Led Zeppelin fan as well.Happy Reading!
Led Zeppelin - Modern Icons

This book is definitely a must read for all of the Zeppelin fans out there. The book goes very deep about Zep's beginning and their rough times (their excesses in the party scene) and it shows how such an innovative rock band, sometimes considered heavy metal legend will never cease. The sound will go on forever and they will never be forgotten. This book is an excellent biography describing how the band basically came from nowhere in a sense and led to the greatness that is and always will be - Led Zeppelin.
