Precious after all these years

The book dates back to the Eighties, and much has changed in the meanwhile. Nevertheless, Sells gives you the opportunity to learn the basics of three highly influential theories and, most important, compare the assumptions and explanations of each. Given that most syntax textbooks are strictly theory-internal, reading these lectures is the best antidote to dogmatism.
