This novel was great! It made me feel as though I am not alone. I experienced similar circumstances and I used to feel stupid and alone. But through reading this book, I found that I am not the only woman who has experienced the degrading, jealous hatred from a male counterpart. More than anything this book was not just about the abuse but how it was overcome. When you have faith and a firm belief and understanding of a higher power you will always come out on top regardless of what you are going through!! Ms. Blount I can not wait for your next novel. Jordan feels like one of my sister friends!! You go girl.
In the Midst of It All

Jordan Baez is a beautiful, gifted woman. Married for eleven years, she is the mother of three children. While to some it seemed she had it all, no one really knew of the wilderness she went through. Over time, she faces many painful tragedies and while many would break under the pressure, Jordan boldly presses onward, determined not to let the events at hand break her spirit. From beginning to end, we are brought into Jordan's life and discover through her testimony how she truly made it through. Leaving the Wilderness is a story that is both powerful and captivating. Ms. Blount writes this story with such an anointing that readers will be deeply moved by Jordan's story. It also presents a powerful message that is for the masses. I applaud Ms. Blount for bringing Jordan's story to life and I eagerly anticipate the sequel along with future projects. Reviewed by Kanika (Nika) Wade
Heart Breaking and Uplifting

The author is truly blessed. This book will touch you in a way that will bring both tears to your eyes and make you thankful for what can be accomplished when you walk by faith and not by sight. Unfortunately, it is a constant reminder that there are still so many women who are in horrible situations and should not hesitate to leave the wilderness.
So Important! As a woman, you NEED to read this book

This book brought me back, the emotions it brought to the surface, the visions I had, it just made me feel so very much. But it is so much more than that. I feel that this book is so important, and should be a "required read" for so many women, young and old alike. I cannot wait for the sequel. I absolutely must know what happens next, and I find myself praying that everything turns out ok, because I want for women who are similarly situated to see that they, too, can have the happy ending they deserve.
I apologize

I had to stop at chapter 3, just to write this thought. As a man, I would like to apologize for a man, if that's what you want to call him, like Franklin. My anger at reading what Jordan had to go through with Franklin in such a short period of time, breaks my heart. Not only because of what he did, but as a father of a 17 year old daughter, I would hope and pray that my child never, ever comes across a Franklin. As much as I would protect her, Love is truly blind. I have to go back now and finish, but to Ms. Blount you took me to a place that I could have went to, but only by the grace of God, did I not become a Franklin. I hope that all men will read this, and start to realize just how precious our beautiful Black women truly are. Thanks,
