Marriage in the Church and in society has become less than happy in the 21st century. For the Church, especially, we seem to need a new outlook and guide for an institution that is both sacred and worldly that will withstand the test of time and social mores. As a minister, I have occasion to officiate and counsel couples who are making plans to share their lives. I take my role in a couple's marriage seriously, so before I ask God to bless the union I insist the couple not only be committed Christians but attend up to 6 counseling sessions.
