Hands-on training is essential to the acquisition of healthcare skills. However, textbooks and conventional courses are often lacking in detail about practical gestures. Inadequate training of all healthcare professionals in practical skills has been noted in several countries. With a view to providing the best possible quality of care, technical data sheets can be used to provide the know-how to respond to different practical situations. Each data sheet details a diagnostic or care procedure, whether manual or instrumental.It is therefore very important to standardize the performance of medical procedures in line with pediatric best practice recommendations, to facilitate the acquisition of technical skills by students on clinical placements.
