Offers loads of useful information for "gamelet" programmers

I passed this book up several times in the store becuase it was written for Director 4 - big mistake! It's easy to update the code for Director 7, or use it as it is (I personally prefer the new D7 "sprite(1).visible" = TRUE to "set the visible of sprite 1 to TRUE" from D6 and earlier). I finally ordered it based on other online comments, and I only wish I had picked it up sooner. It covers many game-specific subjects that I haven't found in other books (most Director books are less useful than the online documentation). This book and Lingo in a Nutshell/Director in a Nutshell are all you need.

Excellent info for those wanting to make shockwave movies

Although this book was written for Director 4, I'm currently using 6.0 and haven't found any instances where I've had to translate anything. The great thing about this book is the way the author describes how to do just about anything with a one-frame movie. This is perfect for those interested in putting shockwave movies on the web for it greatly cuts down on the memory used. I didn't know a thing about Director, much less Lingo, when I got this book. It's an excellent manual and I'd recommend it to anyone!

This is the best book that I found on programming Lingo. It really helps to learn the basics and I can only recommend it.

After I open this book, I could easily follow up what the author emphasizes. This book proved the author has so much experience in teaching students about Lingo. Hence, you can feel comfortable when you leaf through pages all the way. I have read "Easy Lingo". Compared to the book "Easy Lingo", this book really teaches you with consistent and well prepared examples. Yes, this book also explains Lingo commands dealing databases and file I/O.
