A very helpful book

I think that this was a spectacular book. This was the second C++ book I read, and compared to the other one, this was awsome. I learned a lot from this book, and I am now making my own games for the computer and marketing them, thanks to this book.

Bravo!

I don't know what the hell those last 2 people are talking about, yeah sure, it may be missing a paragraph, but i've finished the book and there isn't a glitch in my software, and i am no working on my own webpage editor, using only the information i learned from ONLY this book (ONLY). aND IT'S NEARLY DONE!(only only only)

A Pedagogical Breakthrough

I've made it to about page 170, and I am impressed that this is one of the best computer books in print. I've struggled with numerous books on C and C++. This one is the best. The author takes you by the hand. You've got to be patient, and give him a chance, but he does it. All of a sudden, after having spent time with this book, I notice that I can look at other books on C and C++ and understand them at a glance. I think Mr. Rinehart deserves some kind of medal.

Excellent but too many errors.

I've read only a few C++ books, but I've seen a million. My best pick would be "C++ Primer Plus". Read that one, *then* this one. This book is a "text editor programming" tutorial, not a book about learning C++. You learn a bit, but not enough. It has way too many errors, even whole paragraphs are missing. Still, I learned alot.

Interesting approach

This book is a great C++ tutorial. It teaches you C++ using the included Turbo C++ V1 compiler without the added complexity of Visual environment to learn. It quickly moves you from basic C structures to full fledged C++ programming, although it may move from C to C++ a little to quickly for the average beginner. I did notice a few differences in the books source code and that which is included on the disk, and also some ANNOYING ommisions, especially in the latter chapters. All in all a good SECOND book.
