Ed Rehkopf has done what many of wish we could do: utilize our own experiences in business, both the bad and the good, and created a primer on how to be the best manager, supervisor, or (otherwise identified as) leader of people. Leadership on the Line is a handbook which breaks down the concept of leadership to its most fundamental elements, then rebuilds it one brick at a time to ensure that the reader is on the "same page" all the way. It is a primer, a timeless reference for all leaders who wish to pass on the basics to their proteges. Ed defines, leadership, lists charactics and principles of leadership, then offers good and bad examples of it. He offers exercises for those who wish to use the book as an individual or group training tool. Each section is summarized for quick review. It is therefore a great tool for group learning or individual mentoring. Our entire economy is now service oriented, so Ed's focus on service industries really applies in all industries. No manager should be without this handbook and no supervisor or aspiring leader should be without it either. Write more books like this, Ed!
