I use this children's dictionary more than my French-English University-level dictionary! I bought this children's dictionary when I was studying abroad in France. I thought it would be a cute addition to my collection of French books, but I soon discovered that this is a great stand-alone dictionary for French students for several reasons. First of all, all of the words are put into the context of a story, often with pictures, so you can often figure out the meaning from the context. For example, the definition of "fraise" has a picture of Cinderella picking strawberries with the following story beneath the picture: "Cinderella ramasse des fraises. Ce sont les petits fruits rouges et sucres du fraisier." This helps me remember the word better than a plain old French-English dictionary because instead of just translating the word (fraise = strawberry), you get a story and picture to help you remember its meaning later. A very helpful little tool!
