"Le Beau Ideal", the latest collection of photography from Brandy Lindsey illustrates a marked growth in the artist's vision. While continuing to offer up countryside landscapes of the rural South unparalleled in their picturesque serenity, she expands her canvas to include portraiture of writer William Paul Carter and near anthropomorphic scenes of a lonely ladderback chair. It is, however, in the final image of this collection that Lindsey realizes the title of her book, "Le Beau Ideal". The Ideal Beauty is most apparent in El Pescado, the golden hued image of a desiccate fish found on the rocky banks of Barren River Lake. With El Pescado as with much of Lindsey's work the viewer is invited to realize an atomic connection, an inescapable beauty in everything, a beauty that extends to the bone.
