I love Diana Palmer. She is simply a wonderful writer. I love reading about romance and love and all that stuff. as you can tell this is not Pete but the wife. I have so many of her books, and plan to buy more as they come out. She makes you feel as though you are right there with her as you are reading. I call it my vacation when ever I get to read. I usually can not put the book down and read one of her books each day when I am off. I even get all my stuff done I have to . Ill finish it even if I am up til 3 in the morning like it is now .
I loved it

Another "Classic" Diana Palmer!!

Lawman is another "classic" Diana Palmer story. I was surprised to read so many negative reviews about Diana's latest. It's a "classic" and typical Diana Palmer story. I won't go into the plot, as so many others have done so. However, I will say that I agree with most of the reviewers about this story. There were LOTS of discrepancies in this book. And, what wasn't discrepant was just plain silliness. Good Lord, the villain in this story practically had VILLAIN carved into his forehead. It was amazing that all of the super smart lawmen that interviewed him totally ignored it. And lets not forget the other dumb lawmen in this book. The one deputy who left sensitive, original evidence with a "reporter," and the sheriff who never pursued a suspect based on a grandmother's pleas. And Grace's eagerness to get into an intimate relationship so quickly, especially after all the emotional, physical, and sexual abuse she endured was completely unbelievable. As a practicing psychologist, I read this book in complete disbelief. (Okay, I actually laughed a lot, because it was quite simply ridiculous.) Also, let's not forget the fact that Grace spoke Arabic. What was the point of including that or even the MENSA stuff in the story?? The older, rich & cruel hero, the virginal, clueless, & poor heroine have been plot staples of Diana Palmer's for as long as I've read her books. They never change. Most of the time, I wonder if Diana's settings aren't in the 60's or 70's because even small-town Southerners are not as outdated as portrayed in the fictional town of Jacobsville, TX. Grace, the heroine in Lawman, often bartered for car care. However, it's a classic Palmer love story. I never expect the modern hero/ heroine relationship in Diana's stories. I turn to people like Suzanne Brockmann or Linda Howard for those. However, when I want an old-fashioned love story, I turn to Diana Palmer. She never disappoints.
An exciting investigative romantic suspense

San Antonio based FBI agent Garon Grier buys a ranch in nearby Jacobsville. He meets his neighbor the emotionally troubled, but good-natured Grace Carver. They are attracted to one another and make love. However, afterward he knows he made a mistake by thinking with the wrong head and rejects her. The townsfolk are irate with Garon's mistreatment of Grace. However, Garon has other concerns to deal with than being local public enemy number or the emotional crisis of a reticent female. A serial killer who escaped from prison knows that the only witness still breathing needs to be murdered. Garon, aware that this psychopath is coming for Grace, plans to keep her alive. However, Grace not fully grasping the threat to her life rejects his offer of safety because she fears she will not recover when he breaks her heart again. This is an exciting investigative romantic suspense starring two opposites as she is a kind shy person and he is a selfish rat; that is until he realizes how much he needs her. The story line is fast-paced with the killer lurking behind every paragraph once he escapes with Grace the target. Although readers will not like the realistic love em and leave em Garon even after his abrupt metamorphosis, THE LAWMAN is a fresh return to Diana Palmer's favorite town, Jacobsville.
