I loved this book. As I was reading it, I could see the actors performing the play in my head. The caracters were so true. Espacially Harpagon. The greedy old man who only thinks about himself you want to hit at times. Especially when he speaks the last line of the play. I recommend this book to anyone who loves classic litterature, humour and theatre and if you understand french, of course.

I loved l'avare. I am french and I read it for my french class. I loved the way it was written. As I was reading it, I could see the actors portraying the roles of Harpagon amongst others in my head. I loved the humour and the wit included in the play. I loved this book and I would recommend it to everybody who loves a good classic. The only problem I had was with the language. Sometimes it was hard to understand because it was written in old french but definitions were included. If you love classic litterature, humour and theatre, get this book. :-) Jacques Arsenault
