Prior to joining MedStar, Harvey was a Senior Director of Development at the Krieger School of Arts and Sciences at Johns Hopkins University, While there, he managed a team of professional fundraisers during a seven-year, $6 billion institutional-wide effort. Prior to Hopkins, Harvey served in a leadership role as Executive Director at the University of Florida Health Science Center and UF College of Medicine where he raised philanthropic dollars for the new medical education building. Harvey has also fundraised at TJC San Diego Medical Center where he partnered with various physician and clinician leaders during a capital campaign. Before a career in philanthropy, Harvey worked in corporate sales and business development and has owned and operated a health and fitness franchise. Harvey is a former commissioned officer in the United States Marine Corps, where he facilitated the logistics behind air delivery support for combat operations. He is an avid fitness enthusiast and was an amateur ranked kickboxer in the Marines.
