Latin America Under Socialist Siege

Latin America has been besieged by communism since the Bolsheviks came to power. The Communist International (Comintern), created in 1919, officially launched Marxism-Leninism's global war for power. When Castro-Communism established the Soviet beachhead in the Western Hemisphere, not a single Latin American country was spared from the Marxist attempt to seize political control. The fall of the USSR did not change that offensive. It only changed the imperial leadership of the Soviet Union to Cuba and the methodology for subverting the established order. The financing of this new phase of the socialist war has been done with Venezuelan oil, drug, and information trafficking and the leasing of a neoslavery force, particularly the medical service brigades.

This work explores this development through a collection of writings. Specific country cases are examined. The Sao Paulo Forum, heir to the Comintern, initiated in 1990 a new way of undermining republican institutions in order, once in power, to proceed with their systemic dismantling. Typically, the cases that succeeded in repelling this new Marxist strategy never eliminated the danger, as recent cases in Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Bolivia, and Colombia remind us. The war to make the Americas communist continues. The democratic nations of the region, especially the United States, must take a more proactive approach if freedom is to have a home in the Americas.
