Last Year's Flowers

In the third installment, Last Year's Flowers, Giuliana's poetry takes on a new shape through storytelling. Crafted from fragments of poems written through time, Last Year's Flowers take the reader on a fictionalized journey of love from beginning to the end with the in-betweens and flashbacks of memories. Broken down into three parts, the character's sentiments are revealed as the story progresses from moving through suffering and learning to let go.

"I won't forget the very beautiful time

Loving you gave my heart a reason to fly, but

Losing you took out a light.

After I laid down the pieces of my heart,

Love would bring the light and a shadow of the dark;

Was it all such a temporary dream?

All became lost in the in-between,

Yet there's not one bit of me letting go,

Sowing such a bitterly watered garden no one knows.

Love is a sacrifice I didn't understand until you,

Only bestowed unto those who are willing to leave their hearts open and through..."
