This book recounts a number of events, or "happenings." in the life of Robert (Bob) Visser. The book starts in 1939, when the author was twelve years old, with the eventful return to the Netherlands from a summer vacation in the Black Forest on the last train out of Germany before the start of World War II. Some sixty-two "happenings" later the book ends in 2012, by now the author is eighty-five years old, with the humurous experience of driving an upscale hybrid rental car in France.
