This should have been a book I really liked.

The book did not take me to this wonderful location, just a few in passing mentions of it. I want to feel like I'm there and experience the place. It also did not really reflect the time, could have been any time, including the present. Finally, I got so tired of all of the repetitive introspection. The characters weren't really developed into real people who were interesting.
