In Last Poe, two timelines intertwine-a haunting execution in 1822 Boston, witnessed by a young Edgar Allan Poe, and a modern-day mystery unfolding in the small resort town of Poeland, Wisconsin.
Annabel Lee Poe, a strong-willed yet emotionally guarded 25-year-old, is at the heart of the story, whose past horrors shape her aloof demeanor. On her way to an internship in Seattle, she makes an unexpected detour to claim an inheritance-her family's old Poe estate in Poeland. However, her arrival coincides with a disturbing tragedy: a tech entrepreneur dies in a gruesome car accident, his fate echoing long-forgotten murders.
As Annabel delves deeper, she joins forces with her uncle, Nash, the town's medical examiner, and her childhood friend J.C., his assistant. Their investigation uncovers unsettling patterns-mysterious deaths of young women, eerie connections to Native American folklore, and a cursed Kachina doll at the crash site. The case soon entangles Sheriff Briggs, a man battling his own demons, particularly after the suspicious overdose of his troubled son, Connor.
