Quite easily the best book I?ve read this year.

Championship bull rider, Tucker Reeves, was all cowboy - and perfect for the "Lasso" advertising campaign. Now, all photographer, Cassie Burch, had to do was convince him to come to New York, endorse the cologne and participate in the photo shoot. From their first meeting, sparks fly between Cassie and Tucker, even though she is an independent city slicker and he was raised on the code of the west. But despite all the attraction they feel for one another, they could never maintain a relationship of any type. They're from different worlds. Worlds that are 2000 miles apart. But their shared kisses and aching desire haunt Cassie and Tucker's waking moments and their dreams. And before long, Tucker has lassoed Cassie's independent heart and tamed it for his own.Martha Shields knows her cowboys! Written with wit and sensitivity, "Lassoed!" is an engaging page-turner from the first chapter. Quite easily the best book I've read this year. If there's one book you read this year, make sure this is the one!

Healed at last.

An impulse to photograph a rodeo leads Cassie Burch and bullrider Tucker Reeves together. Cassie's boss at the ad agency wants Tucker to model for a new cologne. Tucker needs the money to build a bunkhouse on his ranch to house trouble boys, having been warned of possible brain damage if he goes back to bullriding. The heat between Cassie and Tucker simmers when Cassie's 13 year old half-brother comes to live with her, an unintentional chaperone. Cassie fears being needy while Tucker wants desperately to be needed.A lovely tale of two emotionally abused people who find each other and peace in their love. As a rodeo fan, I enjoyed the realistic look at Tucker's job. Very well done, particularly the camaraderie among the rodeo participants.
