Lasallian Spirituality Today

Between 2019 and 2022, virtual visits and meetings have been held with educators, teachers, Brothers, volunteers, and other members of the Lasallian Family from all over the world. From these encounters we hear the call to deepen our spirituality. With the leadership of the Lasallian Research and Resources Service in Rome, we conducted an international survey and published a report highlighting each District's efforts to promote Lasallian Spirituality, along with the programs and resources that are being used. To respond to some of the findings of that research, n International Think Tank was created to work on providing a better understanding of Lasallian Spirituality within the Lasallian Family. This publication is the fruit of two years of ongoing work by this group. We have met once a month since 2020 by videoconference, due to the constraints of the pandemic, and have worked together in person for 7 days in Rome in July 2022. The wide variety of backgrounds, cultures, religious traditions, and Lasallian educational experiences that are represented by this group ensured that the result would be broadly resourced and uniformly focused. Our contribution to Lasallian Spirituality includes an animated graphic; a brief but systematic explanation of its components; and a proposal of horizons for the future. We hope that this initiative, along with others, can help in the formation and development of Lasallian Spirituality in your Districts and educational works. This is not a definitive document. It is meant to be a catalyst and support for shared conversations, spirited discussions, and broad engagement, because that is how Lasallian spirituality moves forward.
