Language Journey: Bridging Dreams

Language Journey tells the story of one North American's exploration into bilingualism and a series of cross-cultural adventures. It includes many individual Lessons, roughly in chronological order, each with a Text and one or more Essential Questions. This is designed to spur reader/students on to a critical reflection of what it means to jump language boundaries within the United States, or by leaving the United States, to explore a new culture.

The journey begins in California - Alta California - and progresses through education, work, travel, writing, letters and journaling in English and Spanish. It is not all rosy, as psychological challenges were not easy to endure or overcome. However, the acquisition of a second language and culture was part of the process of personal healing. This was an Exploration of Language, Part 1, and without it I would not be where I am now: Trilingual and Multicultural. Logging this text was very rewarding, as I have finished writing from Santa Rosa, Alta California in summer of 2023. May the Fuerza be with You Traveler, there is no path other than the trail you leave behind as you set forth (paraphrase of Antonio Machado's poetry, and the song by Joan Manuel Serrat: Cantares).
