Author's passing

Jim Bob Tinsley passed away in January, 2004. at the age of 82. His life and work will live on in his recordings and books. His Western Americana collection is in the Jum Bob Tinsley Museum in Brevard NC.

My wife and I have read this book and it was awesome. I would find it hard to believe that there is anyone in the world that knows more about the waterfalls of Transylvania County, NC than Jim Bob Tinsley. We loved the history and legends that Jim Bob shares about each waterfall. The B & W pictures are crisp and beautiful. Jim Bob is pretty secretive about the specific directions to get to these beautiful waterfalls, but we are sure that it is partially out of respect for nature and respect for the private landowners as well. My wife and I have vacationed in Brevard, NC several times in the past 6 years. If you are a waterfall lover, this is the place for you. I believe that an afternoon conversation with Jim Bob would be simply awesome.
