The realm of conventional medicine, so ruthless and disparaging towards the patient, is presented with a generous dose of humor in a way that both amuses and speaks to the imagination by means of movie references. Marooned, the Author takes on the role of a detective trying to solve the mystery of the disease that ravages him while affecting his loved ones, too. Delving deep into the secrets of the world of contemporary medicine, he realizes there is no escape. Succumbing to hopelessness, he loses almost everything he loves. Labelled permanently as a hypochondriac, he finds hope in unconventional medicine. At the moment when everything seems to indicate that the Author is clinging unto a fool's hope, he finds God; through experiences that are nothing short of extraordinary and supernatural, he finds a light in the tunnel, which not only does transform his life, but also has an immense impact on his loved ones and those he happens to meet on his path.
