The culmination of more than 25 years of Lake Superior Magazine bringing Lake Superior to the world. A comprehensive guide to answer all of the burning lake region travel questions. The best local... This description may be from another edition of this product.
This guide is packed with useful information! Well researched, a multitude of maps covering the entire route around Lake Superior. Summaries of areas with details that include population size, history, weather; local, Provincial and national recreation areas; Tourist Information contacts, a wide variety of events, Museums, Where to Stay, Where to Eat—and so much more. I have wanted to make the 1,300 mile loop around the Lake for years, but the resources to plan the trip have been limited in scope or geographic regions. This has it all. The number of accommodations and restaurants listed for each location are limited—but many of the towns are also limited—some with populations of 100 or so! The book was printed in 2005, so updates should be researched, but I would do that for any resource. A cornucopia of details that offers the best tool for planning such a trip—or any segment of it—that I have come across. A real gem!
