We've found ourselves in a "me first" culture, and it's time to reimagine what it means to be a Christian woman in a feminized, secular society. Radically retro, freshly old-fashioned, and powerfully submissive, sisters Rose Adle and Rebekah Curtis challenge us to rethink everything we thought we knew about men and women, marriage, vacation, identity, and much more. Like a jolt of espresso or a polar bear plunge, this book enlivens the senses, helping us to see the world, as it were, for the first time. Book jacket.
As a rule, I can't stand Christian women's books. This book is the major exception. The authors aren't worried about setting expectations that are popular, up-to-date, "realistic," or anything else — only about the expectations that God has set for us, laid out in the Bible. Chances are good that most women will find something in this book to make them uncomfortable, but, if we only read what we feel good about, what's the point? I'm so happy to have found a book for my daughters that isn't feminist, traditionalist, materialist, or any other 'ist', but simply Biblical Femininity. In the whole book, there's only one page I could theologically dispute (in brief, they express one opinion on free choice that seems to deny the possibility of the guidance of the Holy Spirit — although I understand why they want to stand up against the opposite, more prevalent extreme). Wholeheartedly recommend!
