A cross-sectional study was conducted among 298 lactating mothers having under two-years children in Kakani of Nuwakot district. The data collected data was analyzed using Statistical Package for Social science (SPSS) and measured frequency and percentages. About 70.3 % fed colostrum to their children and eighty-two percent of mothers agreed with WHOs recommendation of exclusively breastfeeding child for first six months. The majority (62%) of mothers had practice of burping their children after feeding and wash their hands before food preparation, during and after child feeding and after cleaning of stool/urine. The result suggests that women should be given special attention with regard to breastfeeding support and complementary feeding with continued breastfeeding.
