ENGLISH DESCRIPTION

The author of The Dance of the Puppets, the literary phenomenon that soars in Spain, the United States, and Mexico, returns.

A unique hero. A woman with an exceptional gift. A story of bravery and generosity, of love and betrayal.

Julia Lerner was born in Dresden in 1933 and suffered as a teenager the horrors of the Second World War. Years later, Marxist propaganda turns her into the best pianist and composer in the Soviet Union, showcasing her in the most prestigious stages around the world.

But the music isn't the only virtue that makes Julia a special woman. With a far-superior intelligence, the young pianist creates codes hard to decipher through her melodies and knows how to read lips in several languages. However, her uniqueness makes her a menace when the tensions of the Cold War rise, and informers, KGB agents, and CIA spies move around behind stage. It is then that Julia, pushed by her hope of freedom and the need to protect her family, will have to fight the regime that so far has controlled her career and her future.

She will risk her life, she will sacrifice her freedom, but no one will take away her true love.
