"La Secchia Rapita" di Alessandro Tassoni considerata il capolavoro del genere eroicomico nella letteratura italiana del Seicento. L'opera narra in dodici canti una guerra scoppiata per motivi apparentemente futili tra le citt di Modena e Bologna: il furto di una modesta secchia di legno. Attraverso questo pretesto storico, legato alla battaglia di Zappolino del 1325, Tassoni intreccia magistralmente elementi del poema epico tradizionale con una satira pungente e un'ironia dissacrante, prendendosi gioco delle convenzioni cavalleresche e delle ambizioni umane.

Il poema si distingue per la sua vivacit linguistica e per la capacit di alternare toni solenni a situazioni grottesche, offrendo un ritratto vivido e critico della societ e dei costumi dell'epoca. Tra divinit olimpiche che intervengono nelle faccende umane e guerrieri dalle gesta improbabili, l'opera esplora temi universali come l'onore, la vanit e l'assurdit del conflitto.
