La Brea Man is a comedic autobiographical work of fiction. In the year 2525 AD paleontologists discover the remains of a man in the La Brea Tar Pits of Los Angeles. The story then follows the adventures of Charles "Chuck" Miller who made his way from the Midwest during the hippie revolution of the 60's to the West Coast. There he met many conflicts over his artistic and antiwar beliefs while living communally with likeminded individuals. Chuck's adventure culminates in the year 1971 AD, with his acceptance of fate as he attempts to save his soul by riding a life-size mastodon sculpture out of the La Brea Tar Pits.
