KWELENGSEN STORM by David M. Kelly
A sci-fi, far out in space novel, a bit of militaristic, technical novel. Logan Two Feathers has in the past, discovered a new planet. He and his wife Aurore live there in the colony of Kwelengsen and are free from the chaos that is on Earth. That is, until the wealthy elites called The Corporation decide to take over the planet, aggressively.
Logan is an engineer, capable of flying the various machines that are available in this time period. He is able to pull parts from one machine and fit it to another of the same model.
Picture being on a planet that has been taken over by hostile forces. Every step you take is for your own survival. Logan feels responsible for the other settlers since he discovered the planet. He takes every step available to help free prisoners of the Corporates, meanwhile, not knowing if his own wife Aurore is a prisoner or dead. His nephew Carl has survived the initial takeover, and he works to strengthen their relationship, which Carl fights against.
I enjoyed the book, as a good sci-fi novel, but the scientific machine engineering technical specs, not so much. I gave the book a 4 since this is the first book in the series and it leaves you hanging at the end.
