Enjoyable

Fun read , I’ve read four of the books ,Department Q , nice characters easy to follow , if you like the genre and aren’t looking anything earth changing. As if there is anything new in plots, good guy bad guy, dive in the water is fine.

A bit too steeped in mail ego for my taste

I was hoping for a Detective series that follows in the footsteps of other Scandinavian mystery writers (e.g. Mankell, Indridason). This detective seems shallow to me and the storyline seems contrived and lacks insight into life's deeper mysteries. Disappointing.

Cumbersome translation. OK story not well told

The press is off the mark on this one. The writer might be good, in the native tongue. The translation was not well done, which impacted the quality and readability of the work.
