Kuma-Kuma Chan's Travels

By Kazue Takahashi

Book Overview

This magical story talks about the power of imagination and the dreams that we each have for adventure and experiencing something out of the ordinary.

Kuma-Kuma Chan visits a South Sea isle where he lies in the sun and drifts into a lazy snooze. He climbs to the summit of a mountain and views the sunrise while drinking a cup of fresh coffee. He flies in the sky and gets a bird's-eye view of the ground below.

Instead of physically setting out for one place or another, Kuma-Kuma Chan travels freely all over the world--in his mind. He thinks about, dreams about, and writes about great adventures--even ones in which he's a tiger or he goes back in time--without leaving the comfort of his little house in the mountains.

With its spare text and delightful illustrations, this small-format picture book invites children to explore their own imaginations and inspires them to create their own travels.
