Actually Useful

I actually found the quide quite useful, with a lot of specific information that you can't find in the local visitor center (which I am quite familiar with). It can be a little bit dated (not to mention esoteric) but it is the quintessential guide to Whatcom County.

Excellent Resource for Whatcom County

I think this is a great guide to have. Even seasoned whatcom county residents can find something new in this guide. There is something for everyone in this book.I really like the format with each review giving and address, features, directions and hours if appropriate. It would be nice for the outdoor trail reviews to include a small map with the directions. The directions are good enough to get you there though. Each review also has a full page description with great insite into what you will find on the trail, in the gallery, what the food is like, the atmosphere....
