guidebook for some collectibles

Any book listing price ranges is out of date before it hits the stores; however, if you collect, buy, or sell any sort of antique or collectible, this should be on your shelf. I didn't give it a full 5 stars because it lacks so much -- it seems that every time I look up a category, I have to look in several places and then find only something similar, not exactly the same. The book is large, so it would have to be a lot, lot larger to include everything, of course. But it is frustrating, and I wonder how they select which prices to list. However, if they've gone through 39 editions (or more, by now), I guess the Kovels know what they are doing. These are the same people who write a syndicated newspaper column.

Kovels' in Color

This is and has been a standard in the antiques price guide field for years. While not as exciting a format as Schroeder's or Antique Trader's Guides, Kovels' is a basic value guide useful to compare prices found in other guides. Also, Kovel's lists some popular collectibles not easily found elsewhere.

I been getting this book for over 25 years. You think they change it by now. This is a guide and not a real measure of value. But it give you a start point to work with. I prefer actual sale listing. But if you looking for something right away. This is the perfect guide for you.
