The author, Richard Happy Maduku had his formal education in Ozoro (his birthplace) and Ughelli. He fought in the Nigerian civil war as an Infantry man and retired as a Captain in 1990. His articles first appeared in SOJA (journal of the Nigerian Army) and latter in national newspapers. His first novel, Just Another Soldier, was written in 1987. He presently lives in Ughelli and EffurunOtor (his hometown) both in Delta State of Nigeria from where he continues to write.
