Mark West exists in a near future when droids and A.I. are slowly making traditional males "redundant." Teenage Mark is trying to figure out how to be a man, in this society that obsesses with escaping reality. The more time that passes, the simpler that technology makes life for humans. Yet the less competent that humanity becomes, the closer they get to extinction.

Mark finds brotherhood with EJ, who is everything Mark is not, but wants to be. They've both dealt with struggles of their own, but EJ teaches Mark how to be stronger in life, to be a better man and forge greater days. Lessons learned from this friendship may be the difference between Mark not surviving the tests that come or absolutely thriving. This brotherhood feels deep conflict between the societal programming of morality vs what they see as being "good" men.
