A collection of images by Wulfing with associated quotes from works of literature
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 18 years ago
This book is based on a set of paintings by Wulfing; all of which have a knighthood/ chivalry theme, and the images appear on the odd-numbered pages. On the even numbered pages there is a quote from a famous work of literature that is also based on the same theme. Sir Walter Scott, Shakespeare, Alfred Lord Tennyson, Chaucer and John Donne are some of the great writers whose works are excerpted. Roughly equal numbers of the images are in color and in black and white. The images are detailed and are consistent with the fairy tale level of most of the stories of knighthood and chivalry. In that genre, the knights were always shining and brave and the maidens always fair, chaste and pure. Those qualities are clear in the paintings; they are works of art that demonstrate Wulfing's skill as an artist.
