Klebsiella Pneumoniae (KP) infection is a serious public health problem. It is a potentially serious clinical situation that can be associated with complications and secondary localizations. We conducted a two-year retrospective, monocentric, descriptive study of patients over 18 years of age admitted to a nephrology department who had developed a KP infection. Our aim was to identify the clinical and biological risk factors for KP infections, and to propose preventive measures and hygiene protocols to reduce the incidence and transmission of KP infections. Our cohort included 18 adult patients. Diabetes, hypertension and CKD were present in more than 50% of patients. The profile of patients with a poor prognosis: age > 70 years, T2DM, hypertension, septic shock and a urinary portal of entry. In conclusion, KP infection is a serious pathology affecting a particularly fragile population. A prevention strategy based on intra-hospital hygiene measures is needed to limit the morbidity and mortality caused by this germ.
