What am I, and what have I become? Unable to readily identify her own gender, due to some very unusual circumstances proved to be her biggest challenge. This is the tale that's haunted Madelene McKenzie her whole life. Orphaned at the age of three, she has spent much of her life trying to identify the crucial questions required to be asked. For her, it's turned into a marathon quest. Attempting to battle against the consequences of her true being and finding an acceptable place for herself that would be considered socially acceptable. Challenging every avenue possible, Madelene takes on the world, that eventually produces a hoard of adventure, investigation and a few misgivings. Not to mention romance, illegal activity and an unusual amount of deaths. There are three ways of doing things: The right way, the wrong way and Madelene's way. While writing this novel, the author successfully attempts to define both a realistic scenario and focus that isn't comfortably discussed openly in public. Offering a whole new outlook to a somewhat taboo subject. Personally, I like the introduction of keeping the timeline fresh by utilising musical hits across the decades. The tale ends with a beautiful twist, and I guarantee it will make you laugh and cry. Sometimes both on the same page.
