Kiss Kiss is Fun Fun

I bought this book for my coffee table...I love to look at it and so do most of my guests! I would have like to have seen a few more unique kissing shots, but there is still a ton of noteworthy shots! It is a great coversation piece for any room.

Terrific book, should be read by all

Kiss Kiss by Patrick McMullan (PMc Publishing, 2006) is a fascinating and unique book. McMullan is a master at his field, technically skilled (especially with the motor drive) and with exceptional knowledge about the celebrity territory that he purveys. But he is much much more than that and Kiss documents his singular inspiration. One can look at these photographs and enjoy them immensely as specimens of love, or of celebrityhood, and I certainly did have a great time at that level. But McMullan is not a paparazzi. The stars he photographs want to be photographed while typically a paparazzi is stalking his prey and if anything the celebrities are stalking Patrick which is an element that comes through in these shots especially with some of the lesser celebs. One of the dimensions that really has a genius quality in McMullans oeuvre, and reminds me of Garry Winogrand, is the margin groupings that sneak in on the periphery occasionally, almost by accident in many of the shots where you see the desperation on the faces of the people that aren't going to be included in the photograph. These people are invariably beautiful and fantastically dressed, and they are consistently in the middle of an awesome party, and their mood is just falling right off a cliff. It is a quintessential photographic statement and to frame it in the context of two people kissing has a surrealistic impact that is very intense. I don't think there has ever or will ever be a photographer who will produce a body of work similar to Patrick McMullan and I strongly recommend Kiss to serious students of photography. It is also a book that can be enjoyed by the lay reader who just wants to have fun, and there is nothing wrong with that! -Baird Jones

KissKiss is a nice Valentine's Day Gift

This book is a very nice addition to one's library of fun books...really great to look at.

Sweet, sexy, and clever

Just like snowflakes, no two kisses are the same, and Kiss Kiss is an enthralling look at this special connection between two (or more) people. The passionate kiss, the social kiss, the movie star kiss, so many different kinds of kisses, all unique, all captured in one snapshot. Patrick McMullan has created a high energy book which is also deeply moving. The book spans three decades of kissing, and the amazing thing is, his subjects are all happy to kiss in front of him - there is a level of trust between McMullan and his subjects rarely found in spontaneous portraits. Every page, every photograph, every caption will thrill you and make you want more.
