Most of us have grown up being spoon-fed fairytales and promises of 'happily ever afters' with someone to come home to at the castle to at the end of the day. Love is hard. Especially when it ends. But you will find it again, even if not romantically right away, even though it won't be the same as the first. Kingdom Come Home is a three-chapter collection about a love story that doesn't end like the ones we were told about as kids so often do. It's the story of a first love that may not be a last - contrary to the glorified stories we're read at bedtime as children. It showcases the scary, harder sides of love that no one's ever really warned us about. More importantly, it includes those moments in life where you learn that not having someone to rule beside you in this 'kingdom' you've built doesn't mean it will fall. Being a queen, or a king, doesn't mean you have to have someone to rule beside you. In this fairytale of a life we all live, there is so much to be loved and lost.
