King Telemachus: Volume 1: Royal Alliances

By: Stern, Milton

In this new sequel to The Odyssey by Homer, Odysseus and Penelope have died a year after the tragic hero's return to Ithaca, leaving Telemachus to rule the island at a time when the Achaean city-states are preparing to fulfill their dream of a unified Greece.

King Telemachus must commit to a strategic marriage, but he prefers having a happy union. Eligible candidates arrive in Ithaca to pursue him, and friends arrive to form an alliance, yet foes arrive to destroy him.
Will he find the perfect wife? Will he find happiness? Will new alliances be formed? Will he retain his throne? Will he follow the same tragic path as his father?

There would not be a story about the Ithacan royal family without the meddling of the Gods, who often treat mortals as their human playthings.
