The story is typical product--and I mean no offense by that--as I love the comics. My only wish is that Zane Grey would have written a novel, or novels, about King of the Royal Mounted instead of having this character be what he was in the newspaper comic strip. But as a devoted fan of Zane Grey and an inquisitor who wishes to discover all he can about the authors he reads, I know how this character came about, and who actually did the day to day strips. Still, you can see the hand Zane Grey played in this "book". I am glad to write this, so as to let others out there know, for what these cardboard books were, and are, they are an important part of the history of the publishing business during a time when the country was in desperate financial straits, and even the greatest of writers had to do what they had to do to survive until better times came along. For the Zane Grey fan, I would encourage you, if you get the opportunity to buy one of these, to buy it. In fact, any book that informs you of your favorite author is a book to possess.
