King O' Malley was a Legend in his lifetime, as a raconteur, preacher, visionary, publicist. a socialist, Insurance salesman and bank employees; and rose to become a long-serving Parliamentary figure. Some legends and mystery surround his birthplace, being either American or Canadian. Even his birthdate and early life circumstance he changed at will to suit any occasion. Through all that he remained staunchly Australian, King styled his politics on wide standing rhetoric, wild proposals and reforms. O' Malley arrived in Australia as a young man, brashly using his Irish- American style of charm in business to ultimately be voted into the South Australian Parliament with grand plans and later made his mark in Federal politics as Home Affairs Minister, clashing with colleagues and the public service on many issues. aMany booked and plays have been written about him. This book is just one more but is more apparent to the notability of the character than the facts of his life, for much of those are still shrouded in mystery to this very day.
