Ben Saunders, aka King "B" is a famous baseball player who loans his Oahu home to a young middle school teacher and her two children, after her house burns down in Los Angeles. The two of them have a deceased teacher in common - Edna Lancaster - who had been a great help to both of them in different ways. Edna's sister, Bonnie accompanies the Ricmond Family to his estate on Oahu, which King B considers home. Ben, a former foster child, does his best to help foster children on the Hawiian Islands, making certain that each one has his own little suitcase rather than using plastic bags. Although he had not intended to be at his estate when Alexa Richmond and her family was there for the summer, his injury during the season requires his transport to his home. Ben realizes that her son, Greg, is an alcoholic, and gets involved in gearing him to treatment while visiting on his estate. Ben falls in love with Alexa and her two children - captivated by her three year old daughter, Drew. Alexa, also known as Ladybug by her students, does not believe for a moment that this famous ball player could truly be interested in her. A romance mixed in with beautiful Hawaii's tourist stops and the important issue of teenage alcoholism, combines to make a charming and important story to unfold. Aloha...
