The book struck a chord among my students -- and no wonder!

As a professor at Utah State University, last term I passed my copy of "Kindness to Animals and Caring for the Earth" around the classroom. It struck a responsive chord among LDS students who want all animals to be humanely treated, and for the environment to be wisely cared for -- interwoven topics, as the book shows. Not one of the students had any idea that these topics are so strongly rooted in their religion, and they were pleased to find out. This is an important and unique book. The mass of quotations from Church authorities have the effect of a spiritual pronouncement on the subject. This can only lead to better understanding and positive involvement in caring for animals and the Earth. Though I am not of the LDS faith, I found myself with a deeper respect for the LDS Church, all because of this wonderful book on a topic that means the world to me.
