Killing Time by Linda Howard is an usual, but interesting read!

In 1985, a time capsule was buried in the front lawn of a small town county courthouse, to be reopened in 2085. Just after 20 years, the capsule was stolen and the drama begins to unfold...

Great Time Travel Novel

This is an outstanding novel with a time travel plot. Love the futuristic concepts that will exist in 200 yrs. from now. The murder mystery plot is sometimes complex, but extremely facinating. Keeps moving well and keeps your interest! Only wish it hadn't ended so soon, though not a short book. Loved it.

A good read

I was surprised to read so many poor reviews as I enjoy this kind of book and thought it was done well. There was enough suspense and romance and the controversial subject of cloning was dealt with in a way that gave food for thought. I always enjoy books about time travel so this was a winner for me.

You have GOT to read this one!

On January 1, 1985, a time capsule was buried under the front lawn of Peke County Courthouse in Kentucky, beside the flag pole. It was due to be reopened in 2085. Knox Davis was fifteen-years-old when he watched the ceremony with his father. The newspaper stated that twelve items went into the capsule. However, Knox counted thirteen items as he watched the capsule being loaded. He even mentioned it to his father, Kelvin. Kelvin knew better than to doubt his son. Knox loved mysteries and always double checked his facts. If Knox said thirteen items went in, then thirteen items went in. Knox wondered for twenty years what the extra item was. In 2005, chief Investigator Knox Davis is stumped when there is a hole where the time capsule used to be. The camera tapes show a bright flash one second and a hole the next. This is no sign of tampering with the tapes. Knox wants to find out how someone unburied and stole the capsule in a single second. That same night, one of the people who donated something in the capsule is murdered in his home with no sign of forced entry and no explanation. One-by-one, the other contributors are murdered. Nikita Stover suddenly shows up in town claiming to be a FBI agent. Yet there is no record of her. Know should have arrested her for impersonating an agent, but Nikita shows him some amazing gadgets that peek his curiosity enough to drop the charges and keep her close by, very close by. Knox has no leads and this mystery woman seems to know what is going on, at least part of it. He knows that she is not the murderer, but she is hiding many secrets and she is determined to catch this cunning killer. At the same time, Nikita is falling in love with Knox. Even though he feels the same way about her, Nikita cannot justify an affair since staying with him is impossible. ***** You have GOT to read this one! The author has several surprises in store for you within this amazing novel of romantic suspense. Action, romance, drama, it's in here. Expect to stay up late, just to see what will happen next. ***** Reviewed by Detra Fitch of Huntress Reviews.

Delightfully clever!

Ms. Howard always writes beautifully. This book is no exception. Her characters were delicately drawn, and I LIKED them; her dialogue was sharp, and I was laughing aloud; plus there were a few almost buried points we might all take note of: Our preoccupation with technology is rapidly changing our world in ways we may need to be cautious about. Do I believe in time travel? Not really. Is that important to the enjoyment of this story? Definitely not. Although the book starts slowly, I found myself more and more intrigued, reading faster and faster and enjoying every minute. A great read!

Keep the stories coming! Linda!

I have read all of this author's books. Since I am into scifi stories these days, I was doubly pleased when this book came out.I purchased the Microsoft digital version, this saves me on the shipping cost of the book to Bermuda. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK LINDA. I would like to see more stories like this one. Maybe more about Nikita's family. My favourites stories were DREAM MAN, and the MACKENZIE'S! I am still waiting for a story involving WOLF's grandaughter NICOLE.Thank you for the many years of reading I have enjoyed.
